CEREC One-Visit Dental Crowns
Natural-Looking Crowns Made While You Wait
Not all that long ago, having a tooth repaired with a crown took a lot of time. First, there’s the initial appointment, requiring nasty putty impressions and placing a temporary. Then you get stalled for a week or more while an out-of-town lab casts the permanent crown. Afterwards, a follow-up appointment is necessary for your dentist to attach the crown. And if it doesn’t fit correctly, the entire process starts all over again.
Thankfully, modern technology has made it feasible to streamline the process. Instead of a two-week timeframe, in about one hour you can have your new permanent crown fitted in your mouth. With CEREC™ computer-aided design and milling, it will be fit right from the outset, the crown will be durable, and our stain and glazing process will blend the composite to match the look of your natural teeth. CEREC also enables us to satisfy patients seeking a durable, aesthetic alternative to silver or plastic fillings.
This is how it happens:
- With a specialized camera, a detailed image is captured and uploaded into our computer.
- The restoration is designed and CEREC produces the crown.
- Next, we insert and bond the restoration to your tooth.
Our patients are delighted with this time-saving new technique for acquiring permanent crowns, which require no squishy, foul tasting impressions or temporaries.
